Bills are shooting up faster than before. We are turning on the TV and reading newspapers and there are more frequent references to renewable energy sources and their benefits. We are being told that more needs to be done, which is does. But this is not just for the planets benefit but for ours also. How often do people sit and think ‘what can I do to lower my electricity bill?’ Investing in a renewable source is perhaps the best alternative. I also learned to build my own DIY electricity system cheaply using a guide that I will share more about with you.
There are two main types which are used in homes. Solar power and wind. These are harvested through solar panels and wind turbines.
Solar panels can be placed on roofs, either a house or shed. These are ideal for those who live in areas which get a lot of sun. If you do not get a lot of sun it will not be worthwhile.
Wind turbines need to be placed in a good location. This is to ensure they reach the wind and are most affective. You can place them anywhere you like, the best places are on top of roofs or at the end of a garden, where the wind will be unobstructed.
When considering renewable energy evaluate which would be best for your location. Do you live in a sunny or a windy location? Which would give you a better return on your investment?
Renewable energy is a reasonably expensive option however from investing in this you can generate enough of your own energy to power to cover one or more bills, depending on the size or number of each you opt for. Perhaps start with one and then invest in more when you see how effective it is, guaranteed you will no longer be asking yourself ‘how can I lower my electricity bill.’ I have personally managed to build my own home DIY electricity system simply following a DIY guide online.
